As an advocate for Sheppard Air Force Base and a voice for our residents, SMAC representatives work closely with leaders and decision makers who play a key role in maintaining Sheppard’s current missions and pursuing new missions.
Focus
SMAC works to advocate and educate in support of SAFB to:
- Congressional delegations
- State elected officials
- Local state delegations
- Local elected officials
- Headquarters Air Force
- Air Education and Training Command
SMAC Priorities
- Communicating the valuable physical assets SAFB offers
- Requesting new infrastructure to attract new or relocating missions and maintain existing missions
- Showcasing area resources available to support new and existing missions
- Highlighting the needs of military men and women stationed at SAFB
- Providing SAFB and area residents with community-based information
SMAC Activities
- Providing support to SAFB for community events such as the 4th of July Freedom Fest and other base/community events
- Supporting the interactions between civic organizations, businesses, and the military through the
Squadron Adopter Program - Assisting with the Airman & Family Readiness Center Thanksgiving dinner program
- Hosting significant events relating to ENJJPT (Euro NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training)
